As part of a SCAD course focused on creative level design in Fortnite using UEFN, our team developed a fully playable island that celebrates SCAD’s creativity and multidisciplinary spirit. The island combined parkour challenges, cinematic storytelling, and a Prop Hunt minigame, inviting players to explore SCAD-themed zones through interactive gameplay and immersive environments.

Game Level Design
Designed core gameplay environments for the Parkour Challenge Tower and Prop Hunt Rooms.
Structured parkour paths for balanced difficulty and smooth momentum flow.
Created vertical traversal layouts using modular platforms and bouncy canvases.
Built theme-based rooms reflecting SCAD majors like Painting, Motion Design, and Fashion.
Assisted in laying out Prop Hunt gameplay zones, balancing player visibility and object placement for fair hiding spots.

Gameplay Features (Collaborative Project Highlights)
Parkour Tower: A vertical obstacle course with SCAD-themed floors and bounce mechanics
Prop Hunt: Players disguise themselves as props within stylized classroom spaces
Cinematics: Sequenced shots for intros, transitions, and marketing trailer
Environment Themes: Every zone tied visually to a SCAD department (Art, Fashion, Film, etc.)
Final Reflection
This project was a powerful blend of gameplay design and visual storytelling. It challenged me to think like both a designer and a director, translating level layout into cinematic expression. It also deepened my understanding of Fortnite’s creative tools and limitations, teaching me to problem-solve with resourceful solutions (like OBS recording, Take Recorder baking, and camera cheat techniques).
